*phew*

So Auburn just held off LSU and won 7-3. I was damn near on my knees during LSU’s last drive. Talk about close, for two offenses averaging 35 or more points per game only manageing one score apiece. LSU certainly should not fall at all, in fact judging by the thumping I’m watching Michigan lay on #2 Notre Dame, I think LSU should possibly move up a notch – they played Auburn about as tough as anyone could ask. Ultimately, it was anybody’s game from start to finish. Sure, a really horrible call helped Auburn, but LSU had a second chance, and all I can say is why the hell was the receiver at the 5 yard line? They need a touchdown, the closest that guy should have been was the 1 yard line! Generally speaking, Auburn’s defense won the game. That and our punter. I don’t know that I would describe the offense as ‘explosive,’ but they manage to get the job done.

One last thing: ESPN College Gameday can kiss my ass. Sending the Gameday crew to Los Angeles for a #4 USC playing #19 Nebraska? What the hell!? As far as I know. #6 LSU at #3 Auburn was the only game this week between top ten opponents. More than that, it was a conference game! Still more than that, it was a divisional conference game! What the hell were you doing in LA? Eat it ESPN.

Anyway, speaking of that butt-kicking Notre Dame took today (#2, remember? Playing #11 Michigan, remember?? AT HOME??? And losing 47-21!!!!????), Auburn should move up to #2 in the rankings.
